ScanTalker Speaking Barcode Reader Solution for PAC Mate

Quickly and easily identify products with labels

When you can't easily tell the difference between similar-shaped bottles, cans, and other product containers, ScanTalker® is the answer. ScanTalker for the PAC Mate™ makes it possible to quickly, easily, and accurately identify products simply by reading the barcodes on their labels. Just hold the barcode scanner in proximity to the UPC barcode on a product package or container. ScanTalker automatically matches the barcode with available information in its vast database and your PAC Mate speaks the product brand and name. For many items in the database, ScanTalker also provides product label information that sighted people take for granted, such as ingredients, preparation instructions, and dosages. Using PAC Mate commands, you can hear as much or as little information as you want.

Omni-directional barcode reading

With the omni-directional barcode scanner, you need not hold the scanner stationary in alignment with a barcode. As long as the scanner passes over the barcode from any angle, the information is gathered and read aloud, regardless of the orientation. Use the Quick Scan mode when you just need to identify the products without regard to additional label information.

The database is expandable, so if you don’t find an item, you can add it. The next time you use ScanTalker, the new item will be instantly recognized. ScanTalker even comes with labels to affix to personal items that you add to the database.
